The Rockport Song Cast is a unique program of the Rockport Songwriter Association and our goal of nurturing and promoting the art of songwriting in the Coastal Bend, especially young and upcoming writers.
The recipients of this program are selected from peer nominations from songwriters and industry professionals from the State of Texas. The writers are paired with a producer and given at stay in Rockport at Coastal Bend Music's residential recording studio to record a full length record that will be pressed into a CD package at no cost to the artist.
We are pleased to announce our lastest Song Cast recipient is Rachel Laven. Rachel comes from a great Texas family of musicians and writers and we are very excited to start her project in December! To learn more about Rachel, visit her website at:

Our first artist was Corpus Christi's Emma James, who completed her project with producer Jules Taylor last fall and was released at the Rockport Songwriter Festival in November, 2024.

Our second project was with A.J. Atiee, also produced by Jules Tayor and released in the spring of this year. A.J. is a recent graduate of South Plains College and is currently residing in Rockport. Visit A.J. on Facebook and Instagram.
Our third project is by Marcy Grace, also currently living in Rockport and is currently being released.
We also have two artists currently in production-the first is being produced by Gabriel Rhodes and John Macy for Austin native Macy Dot. The second is a duo project with Jimmy Wilden (of the Corpus Christi Songwriters) and Jenna Ivey, working with Jules Taylor. Look for fall releases on both of these.
