Plank and G.Rhodes with the Rockport Songwriter Association at The Harbor Room on May 13th, 2026.J. Plank (Jeff Plankenhorn) and G. Rhodes (Gabriel Rhodes) share a deep reverence for the stripped-back economy of J.J. Cale — the idea that a groove is most powerful when it breathes. Their debut album, “Slow and Steady,” is that philosophy made real: recorded live at Coastal Bend Music in Rockport, Texas by John Macy. Built from two voices, two electric guitars (sometimes slide), and a drum machine, seasoned with some bass and Hammond organ.
